## Getting here from Portland

Portland sits on the eastern bank of the Connecticut River, so there is no land border with Middletown. You cross the **Arrigoni Bridge**, which carries Route 17 and Route 66 over the river and lands you in downtown Middletown. Main Street Market is the indoor marketplace on the east side of Main Street.

Middletown Area Transit also runs between Middletown and Portland.

## One crossing away

The Arrigoni Bridge has connected Portland and Middletown since 1938, and when it opened it was the longest steel through arch bridge of its kind. Locally it is just the Portland Bridge, and it puts our counter a single crossing from home.
