The idea is that the drink is assembled for you rather than poured from a can.
A classic example
Dr. J is Dr. Pepper, vanilla syrup and coconut cream — soda, syrup, cream, over ice. That is the whole shape of it. Fancy Nancy does the same with Coke, cherry syrup and vanilla cream, and Sun and Moon with Sprite, blue raspberry and pineapple.
Where to try one
